Why should I winterize my Sprinter van?

When you live somewhere with a cool climate, winterizing your vehicle is essential for ensuring it remains in good condition and operates safely. However, it’s important to note that different Sprinter builds (Storyteller, Revel, etc.) have different winterization needs. Reach out to our team for more information about what your package will look like.

We’re currently offering a great deal: when you schedule an appointment for another service, such as an accessory installation, your winterization will be freethat’s a $200 value! We recommend pairing your winterization with one of our top 6 Sprinter upgrades for cold weather– continue reading for the full list.

1. Insulated Window Covers

This upgrade is essential for ensuring privacy and insulation inside your Sprinter van. These covers force heat to be trapped inside your van, allowing for maximum comfort when sleeping during the colder months. These covers also prevent light from spilling into your van in the early hours of the morning. They easily attach to different windows on your Sprinter, including the windshield, front door windows, slider door windows, and more.

The insulated window covers that we order are from Vanmade Gear and fit great on almost all Sprinter conversions, like Storytellers and Revels.

2. Floor Mats

We work with Inhabit Design Works to provide our customers with incredibly durable mats for the interior of their Sprinter vans. These include benefits such as sound absorption, thermal insulation properties, and waterproofing. The company offers a huge variety of colors and patterns for you to choose from. These mats protect your original flooring from dirt, debris, food, pet damage, and other wear and tear.

Models these floor mats can be installed in:

  • Revel

  • Storyteller

  • Ekko

  • Launch/Terrain

  • Solis

Order now to enhance your van’s interior living space with added design and comfort.

3. Portable Fire Pit

In the Pacific Northwest, starting a fire in wet conditions can be challenging. You’ll need a sheltered location, dry materials, waterproof firestarters, and more. A portable fire pit is the solution to camping in the fall and winter. We highly recommend the Ignik FireCan, a safe, easy, and packable campfire for anywhere you go. These are easy to set up and break down, making them the perfect accessory for picnics, grilling, or hanging out at camp.

4. Fiamma Awning

Extend your outdoor living space with a Fiamma F80S or F45S Awning upgrade. These high-quality awnings are UV-resistant, waterproof, and washable. It has secure lock legs that can be fixed to the ground or to the wall, and the height can easily be adjusted. It also features extra strong arms, which are reinforced with double steel cable for improved durability.

Fiamma is known for producing durable and reliable awnings. These are designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor use. They’re also user-friendly and easy to set up, taking only a matter of seconds.

5. Owl Vans Ski Locker

Ski and snowboard gear takes up a lot of space in any vehicle, be it a car, van, or RV. A roof box can make using your pop top difficult if you have one installed on your van. Luckily, our partner Owl Vans has manufactured one of the most rare and desirable products in the industry: the Owl Ski Locker. This mounts onto the back of your Sprinter, allowing plenty of space to store your snow sports gear. Due to the large size of these boxes, we recommend heading to a shop to have them installed–we’re happy to do that for you here at Peace Vans.

6. Webasto Heater

Finally, and most importantly, we highly recommend having a heater installed in your Sprinter van. Our favorite is the Wesbasto Air Top 2000 Sprinter Install Kit. There are many benefits to adding this product to your van:

  • Comfort and warmth in cold weather

  • More storage space since you won’t need extra blankets, linens, and sleeping bags

  • Preventing condensation

  • Ability to sleep in your van year-round

We use Webasto heating products in many of our van models at Peace Vans, and they are the key to a warm, comfortable winter road trip. Make an appointment with our technicians to have yours installed before hitting the road for the holidays.
