Let us do the heavy lifting.

The Mercedes Sprinter, Transit, and Promaster are popular vehicles to convert for weekend getaways, extended road trips, or even full-time living. However, buying a pre-converted vehicle can be costly. Because of this, many opt to complete a DIY build, but this also requires particular expertise you may not have.

That’s where we come in!

We recently opened our newest line of business: Peace Vans Modern Service, where we service and upgrade your class B camper vans. Our experienced team can install upgrades, repair broken parts, and jump-start your conversion. A lot goes into a camper van conversion, so you may wonder what our “jump-start” includes. Continue reading to find out!

Cutting Holes

It’s common to cut holes in your van when completing a DIY conversion: windows, roof vents, skylights, fans, and more. If you’re inexperienced in metalworking, we recommend having a professional do this. An error can lead to water leakage, safety issues, legal implications, personal injury, and more.

Our team has years of experience cutting holes in vans, and we have the proper equipment to do so. Installing windows is one of the first steps in building out your van, so bring in your Sprinter, Transite, or Promaster, and we’ll do it for you.

Electrical system

Another crucial component of your camper van conversion is the electrical system, as it provides power for essential features and enhances your comfort and convenience on the road. This system is necessary if you plan to add the following components to your van conversion: lighting, appliances, outlets, carbon monoxide detectors, and more.

Installing an electrical system in your van can be a very complex task. If done incorrectly, you risk safety issues. This process also takes a long time for some DIY builders, but our team can have it done in a matter of days.

Heater

If you live in the Pacific Northwest, having a heater in your van is essential. We have years of experience installing Webasto heaters in our Metris camper vans, and we’re happy to install one in your class b camper van, too! This process includes mounting the heater, routing its intake and exhaust, and then mounting the thermostat and running electrical wiring to it.
This jump-start option is a great addition to our electrical system installation, as both can be done simultaneously.

Suspension Upgrade

Installing a suspension lift on your van is an excellent choice if you plan to do a lot of backcountry camping. It offers many benefits, including:

  • Increased ground clearance

  • Improved off-road capabilities

  • Allows space for off-road tires

  • Enhanced visibility

Installing a suspension lift is also a complex process, especially if you lack mechanical expertise. It requires using a jack to lift the vehicle, removing the wheels, disassembling the old suspension, installing new components, and more. Having a professional install your suspension lift kit is the best way to ensure it is done correctly, safely, and quickly.

Flooring

Insulated flooring in your van has many benefits, including:

  • Comfort: a soft surface to walk on

  • Temperature regulation: keeps cold air out, making your van more comfortable and energy-efficient

  • Durability: protects the van’s original flooring, maintaining the resale value

  • Condensation protection: prevents moisture from accumulating on the van’s metal floor

Our team can install standard insulated flooring in your van, an important step in completing your van build.

I’m ready to jump-start my build!

We’re so excited to get your camper van conversion started! Once you have the complex things like an electrical system and suspension lift installed, the rest of your project should be smooth sailing. Fill out a service request form by clicking the button below and tell us about your van’s needs.
