Camper Van Upgrades
8’ Fiamma F45S Awning
Fiamma creates the gold standard of awnings. Their F45S model is easy to operate, long lasting, and provides great coverage. Having installed hundreds of different awnings over the years, there’s no doubt the Fiamma F45S is the best awning for the Mercedes Metris. The installation has 3 parts: awning, drip rail, and two custom engineered brackets which connect the awning to the drip rail. We can install this on a conversion we’ve done or a van you already own.
Webasto Heater for weekender conversion
(MUST HAVE EXISTING AUXILIARY BATTERY)
One of the biggest regrets we often hear from customers is not having installed the Webasto Heater in their Weekender van. Fortunately, we’re here to remedy this—tied to your fuel tank, the Webasto Airtop 2000 STC heater is the best in the business. These heaters truly open up your camper van for year-round use. Even on high, the heater burns only 0.07 gallons of fuel per hour. This heater is a game changer for off-season camping, allowing you to stay warm and toasty no matter the weather.
1.5" Suspension Lift Kit
Off road with more confidence! With the camper van build out, it can feel a bit squatty in the back. Sometimes the standard 4” clearance just doesn’t cut it. We see a lot of customers come back to us asking for a suspension lift. Taking our years of VW camper van experience and expertise, we worked with local fabricators to create a 1.5" lift kit that gives your Metris some much-needed additional clearance to access those special off-road spots. This upgrade also increases your wheel and tire options. With our Yokohama Geolander A/T tire upgrade, you’ll be almost 2” taller.
All-Terrain Tires
If you’re like us, you’ll want to explore past the pavement. We offer the A/T tire upgrade for improved off-highway capability. Our team specs the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 in the 225/65 r17 size, which are 1.5” larger in diameter than the stock tires. These tires offer significantly better grip and puncture resistance off-road without sacrificing on-road performance. While not a substitute for a true winter tire, the Geolandars are severe snow service rated (3PMSF) for confident traction in the winter. We advise pairing these tires with our 1.5” lift kit, but they do fit with the stock suspension. With tons of miles on these Geolandars, we are very happy with them.
Operable Sliding Windows
Perfect for ventilation and fresh air in your van, these sliding windows can be installed on both slider doors of your Metris van. Each window has a screen to keep the bugs out. Tired of the fixed glass stock windows that don’t budge? We’ve got you covered.
Note: Driver’s side operable sliding window is standard on all Full Camper builds. This option can be added to the passenger’s side on the Full Camper or either/both sides on the Weekender.
Auxiliary Battery Upgrade
Want maximum power in your camper van? All of our vans come from Mercedes with the factory auxiliary battery, but to optimize its use for camping we offer our auxiliary battery upgrade for the weekender model. We sourced a battery we love that does everything we need and more. With 50aH of LiFEPO4 battery power, this almost triples the existing power in most installed auxiliary battery systems.
This upgrade includes wiring in a solar power charger, shore power charger, hitch mounted plugs, and an assortment of “always on” 12V USB/cigarette style inputs. All chargers are from Victron Energy who make the highest quality electrical components available, ensuring your electrical system will be reliable and problem free.
Roof Racks
Add a bit of utility to your van with our roof rack track system compatible with Yakima and Thule crossbars and accessories. The tracks are professionally mounted by our team in Seattle, and are inset in the pop-top so they don’t add any height to the van (crossbars and accessories will add height).
If you’d like to pick up your van with a complete rack system ready to go, we offer the Yakima Jetstream Crossbar with Skyline Towers and Landing Pads.
The rack system can hold 125 lbs when the pop-top is closed and about 50 lbs with the top open—including the racks themselves, which are about 25 lbs—leaving you about 25 lbs for gear. To use the pop-top, make sure you remove heavy items when you get to camp.

The Dometic CFX3 55IM ultimate powered cooler allows you to bring your favorite food and beverage wherever the road leads you. The CFX3's robust design and ExoFrame construction is built for tough outdoor use. Enjoy efficient cooling and freezing with convenience thanks to a mobile app which puts the control of your Dometic CFX3 at your fingertips.
Rear Pull-Out Kitchen Box for Your Weekender
This custom-made pull-out kitchen box is our solution to easy campsite cooking. With years of knowledge, our team set out to create top-of-the-line utility/kitchen box that fits perfectly under the rear seat we install in our Weekender conversions. The kitchen box is a true furniture grade piece of equipment. It’s made with high-quality hardware and finished with Richlite, an incredibly durable, water-resistant material. With plenty of storage, easy to use drawers, and a flat prep space on top, this is the perfect accompaniment to your Weekender. Many customers tell us it’s their favorite thing in their camper van.
With an additional custom adapter that we make, it can be installed in the stock Metris floor without a Peace Vans conversion.
Camper Van Accessories
Porta Potty Cube
This super portable porta potty cube is easy to use and perfect for long trips or life on the road. We recommend storing it in a secure place—such as behind your rear seat—while driving. If you prefer to leave the porta potty behind your front passenger seat, check out our custom made toilet box for storing.
Custom-Made Toilet Box
Working with the same local artisan behind our much-loved kitchen box, this custom-made toilet box features high-quality Richlite material, a drawer for storage, and securely attaches to the rails of your camper van. Did we mention the porta potty cube fits in perfectly?
Bug Screens
Hanging out inside the van on a warm day? Set up these screens and enjoy fresh air without the company of bugs! Complete with zipper openings, these screens are custom made by a local company and fit perfectly on the Metris slider and rear hatch openings.
Insulated Black-Out Panel Curtains
These best-in-class thermal black-out curtains direct from Germany are perfect for year-round camping. The quality finish and unparalleled insulation properties create a cozy ambiance with added comfort and privacy. They help keep the heat in when it’s cold, and out when it’s hot. Want to purchase the insulated black-out panel curtains instead of integrated curtains as part of your build out? Get a $700 credit on your conversion cost!
Fender Flares
This 8-piece kit covers all four corners of your van and not only adds style, but also protection from road debris with a mini mud flap. Bonus! we don’t need to drill holes into any steel parts of your van. These fender flares attach with 3M VHB tape.
Overland Bugout 130 Solar Panel
Charge your second battery with this solar panel. When you get to camp, find a bit of sun, set it down, and you’re good to go. We’ve used quite a few solar panels over the years and nothing really compares to these. Proudly made in the U.S.A, this portable solar kit generates enough power for most vehicle-based and small campers, putting up to 7 amps per hour into the battery. The Bugout 130™ offers all-weather big power when you need to charge more than just phones and tablets. The kit includes a 20-foot extension cable with SB50 and SAE connectors to plug into your camper solar plug, Dometic PLB40 Battery Pack, and other common portable battery systems.
Custom-Made Locking Center Console Box
Made out of stainless steel, our locking center console boxes are hand-welded by a local craftsman known fondly as “The Center Console Guy.” He’s been making these for a very long time. Custom-made for Peace Vans, this bombproof, powder-coated locking center console box fits seamlessly between the Metris front seats to hold a laptop, purse, camera, and other belongings. Rid your worries and store all your valuables in this box while you adventure for the day.
External Gray Water Tank
This simple solution allows you to collect gray water in a bag when you need, with minimal impact to your cabinet space when you don’t. Tank holds 5.3 gallons, and can be easily attached to the stock gray water exit port on the van.
Bike Rack for Your Weekender
This rack allows you to keep two road or gravel bikes inside your van, and can easily be removed when not in use by loosening two nuts. Fork mounts can be installed diagonally, parallel, or offset depending on what fits your bikes best. Mounts for all standard forks are available, we include 12x100 thru axle mounts which fit many modern road or gravel bikes.
Note: Due to the relatively short length of the Metris van, not all bikes will fit. Many road bikes up to size Large will fit at an angle, but most mountain bikes will not fit. The larger gray bike in the photos is a 58cm. This product is only compatible with the Weekender model, and is not compatible with the rear pull-out kitchen box.
