TALES FROM THE ROAD: PEACE VANS RENTERS

Van STORIES from our community.

At Peace Vans, our primary goal is to fuel a love for adventure and encourage people to connect with nature in unique ways. Our camper van renters often jot down their travel tales in the journals we provide, and our team loves reading these stories for a boost of inspiration. Today, we're sharing some standout journeys from the Peace Vans community in this blog. Get ready for a dose of adventure!

Three National Parks in One Week

“Wow… just wow. Washington is beautiful! Stunning, diverse, and majestic. We are from Florida, and every angle that we looked at was postcard-perfect. We really experienced the state, traveling to all three national parks: Olympic, Mount Rainier, and North Cascades. Each was so different, unique, and stunning. I couldn’t even tell you which I liked the most–we loved them all. Peace Vans and our rental van were the perfect fit to make this a memorable trip. All the details in the camping supplies made this feel like our home away from home. We have a camper, and now we need some GSI supplies! Jessica and Harley were so friendly and helpful–they really made us feel excited to get on the road and enjoy our adventure.

We found, too, that even though it was the Fourth of July weekend, we were able to be flexible with our plans. Two days in Sol Duc was enough for us, so we just jumped on the road and snagged an awesome campsite along the Pacific Coast. The sunsets were incredible. I could go on and on… all our stops, the people we met, the things we saw… Thank you, Washington State–you’re a treasure. We will be back for sure!”

A Saved Summer Vacation

“COVID-19 forced us to cancel a graduation trip to Europe. Thanks for saving our summer, Peace Vans! Nisqually took us capably around the North Cascades loop. Despite campgrounds still being closed, we had everything we needed for one last family vacation before our oldest son headed to college the following week. We enjoyed bike rides, hiking, making s’mores by the campfire, mountain views, mud, and making memories.”

Adventure Through the Storm

“We took an awesome family road trip down the coast on Highway 101. We went all the way to the Redwoods in California! We explored tidepools, hiked in the mountains, captured frogs, saw sea lions, and even had a few sunny days thrown in for fun. One day was so stormy and windy that we were afraid the van might blow over! It was crazy bad weather, but in the end, Dosewallips held strong. Thank you, Peace Vans, for making this adventure possible–we loved it!”

A loop around the Olympic Peninsula

“Our journey with Quiluete was one of many contrasts. It was very warm and sunny at our first stop: Astoria, Oregon. We enjoyed a very successful day of pursuing the Chantrelle mushroom, followed by several fungi-filled, delicious meals. We also did a bit of kayaking on the mighty Columbia River and had many wonderful conversations with the friends who hosted us–we haven’t laughed that hard in years! Next, we headed north to make a clockwise tour of the Olympic Peninsula. The Peace Vans’ Seacrest/Kalaloch campsite was a magnificent place to spend the night. The surf was loud enough to drown out the traffic noise. The next day, we headed to Sol Duc, where we had an unexpected meeting with a friend in the hot springs. At our next stop, Salt Creek, we saw dozens of surfers having a great time surfing the waves from the ongoing storm.

We moved on to Port Townsend for a couple of nights, where we stayed at Point Hudson. We then headed back to Sequim Bay Park, which had a nice spot overlooking the bay. Our last stop at Fay Bainbridge Park was sadly brief but did not disappoint. The van was terrific throughout the whole trip despite some cold and rainy nights. It was a fun adventure!”
